Art has been my passion for as long as I can remember. It all started with a five year old girl and Mickey Mouse. I carefully learned to draw his, face line by line, until my drawing somewhat resembled the famous mouse. Once I started, I was hooked.











     

      Over the time, that little drawing grew into a full blown passion for art of all different mediums, including oil, ink, water color, and digital art. But I wanted more.

      I enjoy no rules when it comes to creating a piece. I find myself constantly testing the limits by mixing mediums. Being drawn to textured art as well, I thought, why not combine the two ideas and try something different? Since then, for the last two years, I have turned my main focus toward pyrography, or wood burning. My woodworks show those deeply carved, scorched lines, some mixed with highlights and washes of paint.

      Life all around us is a balance of everything which I try to convey within my work. I love imagery which contrasts both beauty alongside something slightly darker or unexpected. In my work, delicate details may coincide with symbols of decay, mystery, or tension. You’ll find my line work interweaves bold lines with soft ones, or loose splashes of color over a sharp, meticulous sketch. For me, those contrasts make a piece feel complete.

    When I’m not wood burning, I have also found in recent years another creative outlet in writing. Just as my art, much of my writing also plays with the contrast of beauty and bizarre. Where there’s dark, there’s also light.
